Filling out Forms for My New Job

I’ll fill you guys in a little more later, but I got a job at my University and I just wanted to share with you a conversation I had about one of the sections on my security form:

bullyKC: Question 3: are you now or have you been within the last ten (10) years a member of any organization which to your knowledge at the time of membership advocates or has as one of its objectives, the overthrow of the government of the Unites States or the government of the State of Georgia by force or viloence? Yes___ No___ If “Yes,” state the name of the organization and your past and present membership status including any offices held therein.
bullyKC: LOL
miranda: hahahaha
bullyKC: i feel like if i were to start scratching in “yes” a swat team would bust thru the ceiling and shoot me with submachine guns

I’ve decided to simplify the question for people… you know, rid it of all the legal mumbo-jumbo:

Worth Sharing

Been looking for this video for a while now… looks like it finally made its way up to YouTube. This is a collection of clips from the 2006 World Cup with U2’s live performance of One behind it. I gotta say ABC did a hell of a job with this video. For those of you who don’t know me so well, soccer was a huge part of my life while growing up. Played it for nearly 14 years, lettering my freshman year of high school, and finishing as leading the team as captain my senior year. God I miss it.

David Hasselhoff is Full of Shit

It really pisses me off what famous people can get away with sometimes.

Let me begin by saying that Morgan and I were watching TV about three weeks ago and Jay Leno happened to be on. David Hasselhoff was a guest that night and when he walked out on stage he had a brace/bandage on his arm. I remember looking to Morgan and saying (jokingly) “oh look he finally tried to kill himself.” Then Leno asked him about the arm, and as I heard Hasselhoff tell the story I was absolutely baffled at how he could come up with such a horrible cover-up story. He said he had been in the gym of a hotel and went to the bathroom to shave. He said the lighting in the bathroom was dark, and after he had bent over to shave, he came up and hit his head on a chandelier, which shattered and sent shards of glass down into his arm, severing a few tendons. The whole time he was cursing the hotel and saying hinting at how he had plans to sue them. Here is and article I found that pretty much caps what he said (I’m assuming his publicist came up with this story).

LONDON — Former “Baywatch” star David Hasselhoff had surgery after severing a tendon in his right arm in an accident in a London gym bathroom, his spokeswoman said Friday.
The 53-year-old actor, who played lifeguard Mitch Buchannon on the TV beach drama for 11 years, was shaving at a gym in the Sanderson Hotel on Thursday when he hit his head on a chandelier, showering his arm with broken glass, his publicist, Judy Katz, said.

Doctors operated to repair the injury and Hasselhoff spent one night at St. Thomas’ Hospital in central London, Katz said.

“He’s fine,” Katz said by phone from New York. “He’s out of the hospital and will resume filming tomorrow.”

Hasselhoff is working on an ad campaign for Pipex, a British internet company, she said.

After flipping through the TV today and skipping an episode of Baywatch, I remembered the Leno episode and decided to see if he had been publicly called out on it yet. To my surprise, the only call-outs I could find were a few comments on newsblogs and such. What I also found were two different accounts of what happened, from the same person.

David Hasselhoff had to have emergency surgery after slicing his hand open in a bizarre shaving accident. The former ‘Baywatch’ star - who is in London filming an advertising campaign - severed a tendon in his hand and had to be rushed to St Thomas’ Hospital by ambulance.

The 53-year-old’s spokeswoman, Judy Katz, told BANG Showbiz: “David had just finished working out in the gym at the hotel where he was staying. He was getting ready to shave and bent down but when he stood up David hit his head on a glass shelf and it shattered.

“Some of the glass got into his hand and cut it quite badly.”

She added: “The fact that he needs surgery to repair a tendon suggests it was quite a nasty cut, but he’s in surgery right now, and hopefully not in too much pain.”

Hasselhoff is best known for his roles as Mitch Buchannon in ‘Baywatch’ and Michael Knight in the hit 80s TV show ‘Knight Rider’.

Okay, if this isn’t an obvious publicist coverup to a suicide attempt, let me point a few things out to you:

  • David Hasselhoff, a rich guy, was in a gym bathroom shaving.
  • He was/is going through a divorce, which he mentioned on the same Leno show that he explained his “incident”. I remember him saying it was tough.
  • He hit his head on a chandelier… which somehow managed to have enough force to shatter, and send shards of glass down at such a force to sever tendons. Yet he had no cuts whatsoever on his head or anywhere else but his arm.
  • I did some more looking into it online, and it looks like there were some witnesses who saw David that day. “Witnesses told the newspaper Hasselhoff appeared to have trouble standing and told staff he was upset about his divorce from Pamela Bach. The divorce was finalized Wednesday in a Los Angeles court.”
  • In one interview his publicist says he hit his head on a chandelier, in another interview, the same person says he hit it on a glass shelf…. well which was it?I’ll tell you what it was, it was a blade that he took to his own arm, then realized what he had done in his drunken rampage, tried to figure something to cover up with, and “oh! a chandelier!” smashed the chandelier, called his publicist, then called 911. What pisses me off the most is that on Leno, throughout his telling of the story, he was saying how fucked up it was that the hotel used such low lighting in their bathroom, and constantly hinted at how he was going to sue the place. Whether or not he sues them, he is publicly smearing their image- and people believe his story.

    Is this not illegal?
