FL Studio
I mentioned FL Studio in my post below. [ Here’s a sample of a song I put together in under an hour. ] I named it “Lost Hope” because it gave me that whole urban wasteland at night vibe.

It has been some time since my last update and for that I apologize. What’s even worse is that me apologizing for my lack of updates is becoming more frequent. I’m going to try and fix that from now on.
So, a lot is going on lately and a lot has happened. Where to begin…
As for her…
But I can’t call you up no more
And no we can’t just be friends
Now it’s time to let you go
But I will not be broken
I will not be broken
I’ll keep the slowly fading memories
And that’s all I’m going to say about her… I wish that wasn’t it, but lately I have come to harsh realization that it is.
So what exactly is up with the album? I wish I could tell you. The situation is this: some things came up in the middle of production (including my surgery and our producer having a baby) and we ended up getting off-track, and right now both Cail and I have a lot going on. Add to the fact that we are both pretty tight on money and you have our current situation. At this point in time I can’t give you an honest estimation of when it will be finished. It sucks too because I’ve written many more (which I feel are better) songs since then that we can’t really record because we have to finish the ones we started. I can tell you that we are probably not even half way finished with it (all we really have done is our basic backup guitar, some lead, and scratch vocals (which are just temporary one-take vocals that are there so you can arrange the song around them and then go back and re-record them later more carefully.) So we still need drums, keyboard, vocals, bass the rest of the lead guitar, and any other effects. Right now the tracks on the EP are going be Please No, Asking Why, I’m Not Alright, Solitude, Serotonin, A Fish Named Reefer, Enunciate, and One Look. It’s going to take us finding a good frame of time and coming up with some more money before we can finish, but rest assured I will update you as soon as I have some realistic updates to give you.
Hopefully these couple of demo clips will hold you over until then.

I just got this program called FL Studio and basically it allows me to add really nice-sounding drum, strings, bass tracks to my songs, so expect a few home-recordings coming soon. I have one already (that wasn’t used with FL Studio) called “After Three” that I just need to add backup vocals and tweak a little bit that I can hopefully get up within the next week.
Pictures you ask? Well here are a few recent ones:

I’ve had an okay summer. I went down to Cocoa Beach for a couple of days in the end of June and it looks like that is going to be the only real vacation time I get this summer. I also had to move home because our lease expired and I need a place to stay until I find a new one. (If any of you have ever moved out and then had to move back home you might understand what I’m going through here.) So yeah I’m leaving Wednesday to go to Athens to look for an apartment and register for classes, so yes- I am moving up there. In case any of you don’t know, Athens is where the University of Georgia is. They have a great music scene (a mix of everything) and a lot of acts have come out of Athens, or been heavily influenced/supported by Athens. (REM, Widespead Panic, and John Mayer to name a few.) Hopefully we will get some good exposure up there. So right now is a pretty stressful and busy time for me.
Sheesh, I know I’m leaving stuff out, but like I said I’ve got so much going on, and a lot has happened since my last update. I will post more when it comes to me.
Until next time,
